Don Pedro Island is one of the last unspoiled locations in southwest Florida.  This barrier island has no roads or cars and is only accessed by boat or paddle craft.  Amenities on the island include a covered picnic pavilion, restrooms, and charcoal grills.  There are also several walking trails throughout the island that calls for exploration. Boat parking is available for up to 10-boat slips.  Making this location even more exclusive.  The kayak landing is small on the island. Yet, there is ample room for storing your kayak, paddleboard, or canoe.  The State Park offers 1.5 miles of undeveloped and pure natural Florida beachfront.  This beach is situated perfectly between Stump Pass to the north and Little Gasparilla Pass to the south. Though the currents from either pass is not felt, they generate some of the clearest and most pristine water the west coast has to offer.  If you are into shark teeth hunting and sea shell collecting, this is the beach you cannot miss.  With its limited access, the treasures here are combed through far less than beaches with public access.  Many visitors have their best find days here, with caches of 100+ sharks teeth regularly.

Paddling to Don Pedro Island is suggested at any paddling skill level.  Launching from the Land Base section of the park, the island kayak landing is roughly 1.25 miles away.  Along the way, there is an abundance of sealife and mangrove jungle to explore.  Our most common sightings consist of dolphins, manatees, live shells, and sea stars.  Expanses of seagrass beds carpet the bottom between Don Pedro Island and the Land Base.  This is home to the smallest of shrimp and crabs up to the largest of gamefish and stingrays.  You will also find plenty of coastal birds fishing in these same areas.  The silence of a kayak or paddle board allows for the opportunity of up-close encounters with wildlife. Witness nature like you have never experienced before.

Services are available by reservation at the Don Pedro Island State Park and include SUP Tours, Kayak Tours, Water Sport Rentals, Kayak Rentals, and Paddle Board Rentals.

Don Pedro Island is nearby Gasparilla Island, Placida, and is located in the greater Englewood area. It is less than an hour from Punta Gorda, Sarasota, Cape Coral and Fort Myers. Which is convenient for locals and vacationers in the area.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Book Now” style=”flat” color=”primary” align=”center” i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-calendar-alt” add_icon=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ffareharbor.com%2Fembeds%2Fbook%2Fsupenglewood%2Fitems%2F361845%2F%3Ffull-items%3Dyes%26flow%3D18346″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_gallery type=”flexslider_slide” interval=”10″ images=”2919,2920,2921,2922,2958,2959,2960,2961,2962,2918″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row_content” content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1659404070061{background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/3″ css=”.vc_custom_1659707477567{padding-top: 200px !important;padding-bottom: 200px !important;background-image: url(https://supenglewood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Mangrove-Tunnel-kayaking-tour-at-don-pedro-island-state-park.jpg?id=3071) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_custom_heading text=”Kayak Tours” font_container=”tag:h4|font_size:24|text_align:center|color:%230088cc” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_btn title=”Book Now” style=”flat” color=”primary” align=”center” i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-calendar-alt” add_icon=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ffareharbor.com%2Fembeds%2Fbook%2Fsupenglewood%2F%3Ffull-items%3Dyes%26flow%3D801205″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ css=”.vc_custom_1659403744127{padding-top: 200px !important;padding-bottom: 200px !important;background-image: url(https://supenglewood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Paddle-Board-Tour-Don-Pedro-Island-State-Park.jpg?id=2924) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_custom_heading text=”SUP Tours” font_container=”tag:h4|font_size:24|text_align:center|color:%230088cc” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_btn title=”Book Now” style=”flat” color=”primary” align=”center” i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-calendar-alt” add_icon=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ffareharbor.com%2Fembeds%2Fbook%2Fsupenglewood%2F%3Ffull-items%3Dyes%26flow%3D801205″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ css=”.vc_custom_1659403822618{padding-top: 200px !important;padding-bottom: 200px !important;background-image: url(https://supenglewood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Kayak-Launch-at-Don-Pedro-Island-State-Park-400×600-1.jpg?id=2926) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_custom_heading text=”Rentals” font_container=”tag:h5|font_size:24|text_align:center|color:%230088cc” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_btn title=”Book Now” style=”flat” color=”primary” align=”center” i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-calendar-alt” add_icon=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ffareharbor.com%2Fembeds%2Fbook%2Fsupenglewood%2F%3Ffull-items%3Dyes%26flow%3D801205″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” css=”.vc_custom_1659639947696{padding-top: 100px !important;padding-bottom: 100px !important;background-image: url(https://supenglewood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Don-Pedro-Island-State-Park-Beach-is-only-accessable-by-watercraft-1.jpg?id=3016) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_column][vc_row_inner equal_height=”yes” content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1475066539012{padding-top: 50px !important;padding-right: 50px !important;padding-bottom: 50px !important;padding-left: 50px !important;background-color: rgba(45,45,45,0.9) !important;*background-color: rgb(45,45,45) !important;border-radius: 25px !important;}”][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”3034″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_custom_heading text=”#1 Kayak Tour Provider for Don Pedro Island” font_container=”tag:h1|text_align:left|color:%23ffffff” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]SUP Englewood was rated the best of the best by TripAdvisor travelers in 2022. [/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Is Don Pedro Island Closed?”]Don Pedro Island is open Wednesday to Sunday from 8 AM to 5 PM!

The kayak road at Don Pedro Island is closed and that is confusing to visitors. The public is allowed to walk down the road to the water. It is about 1000 feet. We recommend that the general public bring wheels to commute their kayaks.

SUP Englewood loads all kayak rental and tour equipment to the water for participants. No carrying anything! Just show up and have fun![/vc_toggle][/vc_column][/vc_row]
